As with Handel, Bach's style, already mature at a young age, is also astonishing. A nice example is the cantata "Mein Herz schwimmt im Blut" ("My heart swims in blood"), written in Weimar in 1714 on the 11th Sunday after Trinitatis. Movements like the chorale arrangement "Ich, dein betrübtes Kind" or the fresh closing aria can be found years later in the cantatas of his Leipzig period. The young ensemble Musica Saeculorum under Philipp von Steinaecker combines the piece with the famous cantata "Ich habe genug" in the later version of 1731. The soprano part is played by the young Welsh singer Ruby Hughes, who has already worked with greats such as René Jacobs or William Christie.
