Having chosen to reference Ravel (1875-1937) for the name of their ensemble, it was only natural that the French composer would feature in the programme of their first recording. The musicians of the Trio Pantoum, however, are determined not to confine themselves to a single aesthetic but to let their curiosity guide them and explore repertoires that are as varied as they are contrasting. Thus, for their recording debut, they are showcasing a variety of influences, pairing their favorite piece with those of a somewhat forgotten Russian Romantic composer and one of the emerging figures in Czech music.
