Amati already has a solid experience on the scene and his notoriety has gone beyond the borders of France. Many strongholds of jazz have already programmed it. • For her first personal album, Amati Schmitt is surrounded by her brother Bronson Schmitt on rhythm guitar, Xavier Nikq on double bass and Dorado Schmitt on Peruvian cajon and violin. The program is a skillful and skilful mix of waltzes, swing, bossa and walks in the purest Reinhardtian tradition. • The choice to include Les Copains first, the most famous of Georges Brassens' songs, in his repertoire, is no accident. This "Buddies first" sounds here like a sort of "The Old Ones First". Whether he revisits the compositions of Dorado or those of Django, it is always with the same spontaneity, the same freshness and all the carefree and fiery audacity of youth. • A stranger to the slightest temptation to demonstrate, Amati possesses the wisdom of those who serve before serving. His own creations are far from resembling the inconsistent "in the manner of" that we most often serve early virtuosos who only amaze the absent-minded.
