This two-act Opera Buffa is presented here in its world premiere recording on a two-disc set. Don Checco is an example of the best comic tradition of the 19th century Neapolitan musical theater. Performers on this recording include Orchestra Internazionale d’Italia, Chorus of the Transylvania State, and Philharmonic Orchestra of Cluj-Napoca. Along with Verdi’s La traviata, this opera became the most performed opera of the 19th century.
