For this album, Christian Gaubert oriented his composition towards a rhythmic form inspired by ethnic traditions (Bulgarian, Turkish or Armenian) characterized by asymmetric compound measures (11 beats and mainly 7 beats), the harmonic universe remaining contemporary. To interpret the themes, the trio called on two exceptional soloists, seasoned in this form of eclecticism in jazz, Thomas Savy on saxophones and Christophe Leloil on trumpet. A single track (in trio) remains in the same universe as the previous album, the last two pieces are solo piano, the last being totally improvised including the melodic argument.
